Time for American Legion Baseball!

The American Legion Mid-Atlantic Baseball Tournament will take place at Fireman’s Field in Purcellville from Wednesday, August 8th through Sunday, August 12th. State championship teams from Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia will face-off to decide the Mid-Atlantic champions that will represent the region at the 2018 American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina. The Tournament is hosted by Leesburg’s Post 34 in association with Ashburn Post 2001, Sterling Post 150, and our own Post 293 team. The tournament is also being hosted with the support of the Town of Purcellville and Loudoun County.

Wednesday and Thursday games will consist of two double-headers, beginning at 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Friday’s games will begin at 12:00 PM, 3:30 PM, and 7:00 PM. Saturday’s games will begin at 1:00 PM and 4:30 PM. And Sunday’s Championship game will be at 1:00 PM, unless a 15th game is needed to crown a winner. If so, Game 15 will begin at 4:00 PM. The Post 34 Rangers will be representing Loudoun County in the second game of Day 1’s afternoon double-header at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.

Baseball has been an American Legion tradition since 1925. Now in it’s 93rd year, the American Legion Baseball program counts over half of current Major League players as Alumni. The Legion is proud to welcome fans to historic Fireman’s Field for this year’s tournament. Please come out and cheer on some of the top upcoming Baseball talent in America as they fight to claim the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Championship on their way to the American Legion World Series.
